Strategic programs in corporate functions

Many companies concentrate exclusively on the pure formulation of corporate and functional strategies. However, their implementation is often taken for granted and quickly disappears from the focus of top management due to their more operational nature. However, this is a crucial mistake that often leads to the failure of strategies.

Strategic decisions can only be successfully implemented if the underlying initiatives are highly consistent with the achievement of strategic goals and make a positive contribution to value. Company-wide software programs

Company-wide software projects can present significant challenges for organizations. It is not uncommon for critical restrictions to be overlooked, budgets to be exceeded, go-live dates to be postponed multiple times, and internal employees to become overloaded.

Our approach aims to simplify the process for our customers by developing scenarios for implementation strategies. We consider critical restrictions such as linking locations with different software solutions and specific time and functional limitations that a brownfield approach may involve. With our clients, we assess the economic feasibility and viability of various scenarios, including a greenfield approach. Among the possible solutions, we identify the scenario with the least negative impact on the corporate network and derive the critical path for implementation.

In the actual project, we assist our customers with supplier selection, contract design, and requirements engineering, all the way through to go-live with end-to-end project and solution management. In doing so, we minimize customizations through qualitative and quantitative evaluation and work on the content of work packages. We establish a project organization with clear responsibilities and ensure compliance with the critical path through detailed resource and task planning. Our extensive experience helps us recognize and avoid typical pitfalls.

Task-Forces

By working closely with the project team, we analyze the problem thoroughly instead of relying on standard concepts. Digitization programs

Digitization poses a challenge for companies to prioritize the right topics. An abundance of information and competing ideas can lead to suboptimal use of time and resources. Development of new corporate structures

Far-reaching strategic decisions may require structural adjustments to ensure that the corporate structure optimally supports strategic goals and enables employees to contribute their skills and talents with great commitment. Organizational realignment is often necessary to achieve this.

We assist our clients in this intensive process and design their structures in line with their strategy. Together, we create precise job descriptions, establish collaborative operating models, and design career paths for professional growth. We use capability maps and headcount monitoring to ensure that the necessary skills are available in the appropriate measure. We work closely with works councils to ensure that all actions are implemented in a socially responsible manner and communicated transparently.

A particular focus of our work is the dimensioning of software and product development areas and their agile orientation in order to be able to react quickly and efficiently to constantly changing customer needs.

Carve-out and integration programs

These programs are characterized by extreme time pressure. For carve-outs, there is less than a year between the decision and Day-1, and in extreme cases, only 3-4 months. For integration programs, the necessary speed of change is determined by the end of the Transition Service Agreement (TSA) period. Despite time pressure at critical milestones, such as Day-1, it is essential to ensure the operability of functions, integration with the supply chain, and interaction with customers.

We support demanding programs in critical functions such as purchasing and IT. Our focus is on the elements that represent the main risk for these functions and securing their dependencies. We rely on intelligent scope management, selective deep dives, and monitoring critical aspects of progress. We involve corporate functions such as legal or data protection to translate requirements into implementable measures and avoid jeopardizing the schedule. This approach ensures success with minimal impact on the organization.
